Eyes on the ground, before you place the order.
Pictures on a listing prove very little. A factory audit puts someone physically at the site, documents what is there, and gives you a written report.
What an audit can include
- Factory visit
An on-site visit to the address given by the supplier.
- Photos
Photographs of the site, facility and relevant production areas.
- Video
Short video of the walk-through, so you can see it for yourself.
- Production capability check
Equipment, lines and capacity as observed on site, checked against what was claimed.
- Address verification
Whether the address matches the supplier’s documents and registration.
- Basic company verification
Identity and registration checks against China-side records.
- Written report
A concise report with findings, photos and open questions.

Questions about audits
How is this different from supplier verification?
Verification is a records-based check of the company. An audit is physical — someone goes to the site and documents what is actually there. Many buyers start with verification and escalate to an audit.
Will the supplier know I asked for an audit?
[Decide your policy before launch — e.g. audits can be arranged discreetly, or openly.]
What does the report look like?
A concise written report: findings, photographs, what was verified, what could not be, and the open questions worth raising with the supplier.
